UNC Fumble against NCSU
The UNC football player knew his way around
the locker room better than he did the library,
so when the librarian saw the gridiron star roam -
ing the stacks of books looking confused, she
asked how she could help.
"I have to read a play by Shakespeare," he said.
"Which one?" she asked.
He scanned the shelves and answered, "William."

in every national trial, and who will not forsake us so long as we
obey His commandments and walk humbly in His footsteps.

Born May 2, 1903
Died: October 14, 1977
Actor, Singer. He is best remembered for his many "Road"
movies with costar Bob Hope, for such classic movies as
"Going My Way," "White Christmas," and for such songs as
"White Christmas." When one of his songs became successful
on the radio in 1931, it brought him to the attention of
Hollywood. Paramount Pictures included him in the movie,
"The Big Broadcast of 1932," and his relaxed, low key style
hit just the right note with the audience, making him a star.
In 1940, Crosby was teamed with his friend, Bob Hope, in
"The Road to Singapore" and the combination of jokes, songs,
romance, burlesque and exotic locations (it was actually
filmed in Hollywood, not in Singapore), made the pair a hit.
In the film "Holiday Inn," he sang Irving Berlin's "White
Christmas" and it went on to become one of the biggest
selling records for the next 50 years. Crosby died of a
heart attack on a golf course in Madrid, Spain, in 1977.

Friend: 'Hey! How's your new pet fish doing? You told me
ReplyDeletehe was really something special.'
UNC Grad: 'To tell the truth, I'm really disappointed in him.
The guy who sold him to me said I could teach him to sing
like a bird.'
Friend: 'What? Let me get this straight... You bought a fish
because you thought you could teach him to sing like a bird?'
UNC Grad: 'Well, yeah. After all, you know, he's a parrot fish.'
Friend: 'Now listen while you might be able to teach a parrot
to sing, you're never going to get anywhere with a parrot fish.'
UNC Grad: 'That's what you think! It just so happens this fish
can sing. The thing is, he's terribly off-key and it's driving me
crazy. Do you know how hard it is to tuna fish?'
