This is how much God loved the world: He gave His Son, His one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in Him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn't go to all the trouble of sending His Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in Him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust Him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person's failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to Him. - John 3:16-18

My beloved friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God. The person who refuses to love doesn't know the first thing about God, because God is love - so you can't know Him if you don't love. This is how God showed His love for us: God sent His only Son into the world so we might live through Him. - I John 4

So love the Lord God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence and energy. Love others as well as you love yourself. There is no other commandment that ranks with these. - Jesus Christ

And because of this,
a man leaves father and mother
and is firmly bonded to his wife,
becoming one flesh - no longer
two bodies but one.

(Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:5 & Ephesians 5:31)

Even musical instruments like the flute or the harp, though they are lifeless, are examples of the need for speaking in plain language. For no one will recognize the melody unless the notes are played clearly. And if the bugler doesn't sound a clear call, how will the soldiers know they are being called to battle? And it's the same for you. - 1 Corinthians 14

Then you can tell the next generation detail by detail the story of God, Our God forever, Who guides us till the end of time. - Psalm 48

So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life - your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life - and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for Him. Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what He wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. - Romans 12:1&2

After all, He's famous for great and unexpected acts; there's no end to His surprises. He gives rain, for instance, across the wide earth, sends water to irrigate the fields. - Job 5:9&10

Take me away with you! Let's run off together! An elopement with my King-Lover! We'll celebrate, we'll sing, we'll make great music. Yes! For your love is better than vintage wine. Everyone loves you - of course! And why not? Tell me where you're working - I love you so much - Tell me where you're tending your flocks, where you let them rest at noontime. Why should I be the one left out, outside the orbit of your tender care? - Song Of Solomon

I'm just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little. I've found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands empty. Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am. - Philippians 4:12&13

Don't push your way to the front; don't sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don't be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand. Think of yourselves the way Christ Jesus thought of Himself. He had equal status with God but didn't think so much of Himself that He had to cling to the advantages of that status no matter what.

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice -- the kind He will accept. When you think of what He has done for you, is this too much to ask? Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect His will really is. As God's messenger, I give each of you this warning: Be honest in your estimate of yourselves, measuring your value by how much faith God has given you.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8

Anyone who is willing to hear should listen to the Spirit and understand what the Spirit is saying to the churches. Everyone who is victorious will eat from the tree of life in the paradise of God. - Revelation 2:7

So the LORD God caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep. He took one of Adam's ribs and closed up the place from which he had taken it. Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib and brought her to Adam. "At last!" Adam exclaimed. "She is part of my own flesh and bone! She will be called 'woman,' because she was taken out of a man." This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one. - Genesis 2

I plead with you to give your bodies
to God. Let them be a living and holy
sacrifice -- the kind He will accept.
When you think of what He has done
for you, is this too much to ask?
Don't copy the behavior and customs
of this world, but let God transform you
into a new person by changing the way
you think. Then you will know what God
wants you to do, and you will know how
good and pleasing and perfect His will
really is. - Romans 12

Your word I have hidden in my heart,
That I might not sin against You!

- Psalm 119:11

For by grace you have been saved through faith,
and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
not of works, lest anyone should boast. - Ephesians 2:8&9

Your word is a lamp to my
feet and a light to my path.
- Psalm 119:105

The god of this age has blinded the minds of
unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light
of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the
image of God. - 2 Corinthians 4:4

Whatever you do, work at it with
all your heart... - Colosians 3:23

Each one of us needs to look after the good of the
people around us, asking ourselves, “How can I help?”
That’s exactly what Jesus did. He didn’t make it easy
for Himself by avoiding people’s troubles, but waded
right in and helped out.

Let us then approach the throne of grace
with confidence, so that we may receive mercy
and find grace to help us in our time of need.
- Hebrews 4:16

Neither height nor depth,
nor anything else in all creation,
will be able to separate us
from the love of God that
is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

- Romans 8:39
